TeenTech makes scents

Seven is delighted to be involved with the first TeenTech event to be held in Manchester.  Taking place on Wednesday 23 October at the University of Manchester, the lively one-day event will give hundreds of pupils from across Greater Manchester and the North West region the chance to see the wide range of career options in science, engineering and technology.

We will join over 30 local and national employers at the event to promote the diversity of science-based roles.  “This is a positive way to engage with young people and give them an insight into the sheer diversity of roles and industries that welcome students with STEM qualifications.  We hope our interactive challenges and hands-on introduction to fragrance development and formulation will help to inspire the next generation,” commented Miri Scott, fragrance insight manager Seven Scent.

Other participating companies include Activ Robots, 2D-Tech, Alstom, BP, BBC, Futureworks, IBM, JVC, Lucid Innovation, Manchester Airport, National Grid, National Rail, Samsung and Sodexo.

TeenTech is an award winning, industry-led initiative, founded in 2008 by Maggie Philbin and Chris Dodson to help the  “X Factor” generation understand their true potential and the real opportunities available in the contemporary STEM workplace.  TeenTech works collaboratively with Education Business Partnerships, companies, Universities and business organisations to create these very special experiences for young people at venues across the UK.
