Giraffe’s sweet dance

We have once again helped Manchester-based symphony orchestra, the Hallé, create a wonderful multi-sensory theatre experience for young children.

Based on the bestselling children’s book, Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae, this interactive family concert told the touching story of a giraffe who thought he couldn’t dance until, with a little help from his animal friends, he discovered he most definitely could.

Colourful scenery and costumes presented a vibrant visual backdrop for the story, while Seven’s acacia-inspired, heady floral fragrance with leafy green notes created a strong sense of place for this jungle romp.

With music specifically composed by the Hallé Education Director, Steve Pickett, a team of nine Hallé musicians and a professional dancer involved the children in acting, singing and dance.

Ever popular, we are delighted to report that every one of the Hallé’s Giraffes Can’t Dance concerts sold out. If you are interested in attending future events, take a look at the Hallé’s award-winning Education Programme here.
